Final trials of Mumbai Metro Phase 2 will start September 27 onwards

The commercial run on Line 7 and Line 2A of Phase 2 will begin in December.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has scheduled trial runs on phase 2 of Line 2A and Line 7, which are set to commence on September 27. Reportedly, Line 2A of the Mumbai Metro runs between Dahisar and DN Nagar and has 17 stations while Line 7 connects 13 stations between Andheri East to the Dahisar East area.

Phase 1 of Line 7 and Line 2A was already operational since April 2022, and the remaining stretch was expected to be functional by the end of August. However, because of delays in the civil work, it will now be completed in the month of December.

Providing access to some of the most significant areas such as Mumbai Airports, Sanjay Gandhi National Park and SEEPZ, Line 7 of Mumbai Metro will stretch between an length of 16.5 kilometers, and will also connect the Central Mumbai area to the suburban regions of town.

On the other hand Line 2A will be 18.6 kilometers long, and will connect many existing metro lines so that commuters can seamlessly interchange trains and take on different metro lines.

It is certain that the completion of all metro lines will aid transportation systems on the busiest routes of the city.
