Mumbai's beloved Lalbaugcha Raja, celebrating its 91st year in 2024, has been drawing in devotees from all walks of life since inception. Now, a viral video showcasing the Ganesh idol's evolution from 1934 to present day has stirred emotions and reverence among followers.

The visual narrative begins with rare black-and-white photos from the pandal's early days, progressing to vibrant, modern images. This transformation mirrors the Lalbaug Cha Raja's growth from a local fishermen's vow to a cultural phenomenon attracting millions.

Established in 1934 after market traders pledged to install Ganpati if given a new marketplace, the Lalbaug Cha Raja has become synonymous with wish fulfilment. Its popularity soared post-2001 with increased media coverage.

Today, as devotees flock to seek blessings and make wishes, Lalbaugcha Raja stands as a testament to enduring faith and cultural heritage in Mumbai. This year, the first darshan occurred on September 5, with the main public viewing open from September 7 Ganesh Aagman to September 17 Ganesh Visarjan.
