India Post launches 'Diwali Express' service for faster festive deliveries in & around Mumbai

The Department of Posts has introduced its 'Diwali Express' parcel service, offering quick and reliable delivery of Diwali snacks within Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai. The service guarantees next-day delivery for local parcels and provides free pickup for bulk customers.

Recently, coinciding with National Postal Week (October 7-11), Maharashtra Postal Circle also announced a nationwide ad competition - 'India Post Aapka Dost'. Participants can submit 20-35 second video ads in three categories, with a chance to win cash prizes totalling ₹4 lakh. The last date of entry is November 15, 2024.

This year also marks the 150th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union, celebrated on World Post Day (October 9). The UPU's theme, "150 years of enabling communication and empowering peoples across nations," highlighted the enduring importance of postal services in connecting communities worldwide.
