The southwest monsoon began withdrawing from Maharashtra on October 5, 2024, starting in Nandurbar, with a full retreat expected by October 15. In Mumbai, rainfall dropped by 88% from October 1-5, but residents should prepare for more rain as thundershowers are predicted this week.

Currently, IMD has issued a Yellow Alert in Mumbai, Pune and Raigad, warning of the final few spells of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. With Mumbai’s temperature spiking to 36.5°C, four degrees above normal, expect some intense weather in the comng days.
