Maharashtra Assembly Elections | Find out what's open and what's closed in Mumbai on polling day!
Polling has commenced for Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 from 7 AM today. All 288 seats in the state have gone to poll in this single-phase election, which will continue until 6 PM. In a bid to maintain election decorum, certain guidelines and advisories have been issued on what will remain shut and what will stay open.

Public transport will operate as usual in Mumbai, including the Mumbai Metro and BEST buses. Furthermore, special overnight trains have also been introduced to facilitate smooth commute for election officials.
All Hospitals and Emergency services will also remain open throughout the day.
Here's what will stay closed:
All public and private sector banks in the state will be closed. However, online services and ATMs will continue to function. Furthermore, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will be closed.
It's a dry day in Mumbai and Maharashtra as all liquor shops will remain shut till 6 PM.
Schools, colleges, universities, and government offices will stay shut for the day. Many private offices in Maharashtra have announced a paid holiday to encourage voter participation.
