Mumbai Weather: City braces for a wet Wednesday with chances of extremely heavy rain
Mumbai is set to face another round of downpour on Wednesday, July 24, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting moderate to heavy rainfall for the city and its suburbs. According to IMD's latest weather bulletin, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also predicted a high tide of 4.07 metres, adding to the city's weather challenges.
KDMC advises residents to stay indoors!
The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for Mumbai, indicating heavy rainfall, while an Orange Alert has been issued for Thane, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall. The Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has advised residents to step out only if necessary.
Elsewhere in the region, extremely heavy rainfall (≥ 20 cm) is expected in isolated areas of Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat. The IMD has also issued a Red Alert for these regions, forecasting extremely heavy rainfall over central Maharashtra, Gujarat, Konkan, and Goa on July 24.
