Mumbai witnesses coolest March day since 2012; pleasant weather on the cards!
On Sunday, Mumbai recorded its lowest March daytime temperature since 2012, reaching 28.8°C. This reading, 4° below the seasonal average, follows a recent pattern of fluctuating temperatures, from scorching heat to occasional showers.
Both Santacruz and Colaba observatories recorded the same maximum temperature, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This drop, attributed to northerly winds, is expected to cool the city further, with nighttime temperatures forecasted to reach as low as 16°C at Santacruz.
While Mumbai braces for cooler days ahead, the rest of Maharashtra may experience isolated thunderstorms and lightning, particularly in districts like Akola, Amravati, Gondia, and Nagpur. IMD predicts stable weather for Mumbai in the next 48 hours, with temperatures ranging between 31°C and 19°C.
