Mumbai's first-ever Monsoon Shelters for stray animals installed across Bandra, Khar & Santacruz
In a move to protect Mumbai’s stray animals during monsoon season, Ashish Shelar, a local politician from Bandra West, and Rahul Narain Kanal from "I Love Mumbai Foundation" have launched the city’s first Monsoon Shelters.
As per reports, each Monsoon Shelter is designed to accommodate multiple animals comfortably, featuring a strong structure to withstand the monsoon showers. These shelters are strategically scattered across Bandra, Khar, and Santacruz. These areas are particularly known for their significant stray populations, ensuring immediate relief for animals in need.
The initiative has been met with enthusiasm from locals and activists, who hope it will ease the plight of strays during the monsoon. Plans are already in motion to expand this project to more areas, setting a precedent for compassionate community-driven solutions.
As the monsoons continue, these shelters demonstrate the power of collaboration in making Mumbai a kinder city for all its residents, big and small. Follow I Love Mumbai Foundation for more updates.
