Today, Mumbai's first underground Mumbai Metro 3, also known as Aqua Line, will be inaugurated by India's Prime Minister, who is set to take the first ride. This marks the launch of Phase 1, connecting Aarey to BKC. Read on to know the details, including timings, daily trips, fares, stations and more!

Phase 1 covers a total of 12.44 kilometres
There are 10 stations along the route
The metro will operate from 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM on weekdays, and from 8:30 AM to 10:30 PM on weekends
This phase will operate 9 trains, each consisting of 8 cars
A total of 96 trips will be conducted each day
One metro train can ferry 2,500 passengers
The headway between two Metro trains is expected to be 6:40 minutes

Minimum fare on MM3 is ₹10
Journey from Aarey to BKC: ₹50
Aarey JVLR to Marol Naka: ₹20
Aarey JVLR to Airport T1 Terminal: ₹30

Out of the 10 stations along the route, nine are underground. The Aarey station is the only grade-level station in this stretch, located near the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR).
Following the inauguration, Aqua Line Phase 1 will swing into action on October 6.
