After years of anticipation and numerous setbacks, the ambitious Mumbai-Goa Marine Super Highway project is finally making headway. With a staggering budget of ₹26,000 crore, the nearly 500 km highway promises to ease traffic on the Mumbai-Goa route while offering stunning views of India’s western coast. The project aims to revolutionise travel along this busy stretch.

Features of Marine Goa Super Highway

The Marine Goa Superhighway will feature a four-lane design, inspired by California's famous Pacific Highway. This layout will seamlessly connect all coastal towns in the Konkan region, offering an efficient transportation option for residents and travellers.

Spanning a total of 27 kilometres, the Marine Goa Superhighway will include seven significant bridges that will enhance transportation and facilitate trade throughout the area. These seven bridges include:

  • Dharamtar Creek Bridge (Karja): A 10.2 km steel bridge showcasing modern engineering.

  • Kundlika Creek Bridge: A 3.8 km link between Revdanda and Salav.

  • Agardanda Creek Bridge (Dighi Agardanda): A 4.3 km cable-stayed structure.

  • Bankot Creek Bridge (Bagmandla Veshwi): A 1.7 km cable-stayed bridge.

  • Kelshi Bay Bridge (Kelshi): A 670 m box girder bridge.

  • Jaigad Creek Bridge: A 4.4 km cable-stayed connection.

  • Kunkeshwar Bridge: A 1.6 km cable-stayed bridge connecting key locations.

Economic growth on the horizon

The Marine Goa Superhighway is poised to deliver a smoother travel experience for both locals and tourists while driving substantial economic growth along the picturesque western coast. As the project moves from vision to reality, it will fundamentally reshape the region by linking coastal cities throughout the Konkan.
