New Pedestrian Bridge to connect South-North section of Mumbai's Western Expressway

In a bid to ease your commute, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has decided to build a Pedestrian Bridge connecting the Western Expressway with Akurli Station on Metro 7. This ₹40 crore project aims to cut down the detours that commuters currently face on 16.5 km long, Mumbai Metro 7 line. MMRDA believes that the construction of this Pedestrian Bridge will be built in 18 months.
As per reports, this bridge is just the start—MMRDA plans to build 14 more pedestrian bridges along this route in phases, with a total estimated cost of ₹210 crores.
