Mumbai is set for unprecedented security operations as the 10-day Ganeshotsav celebrations concludes with Anant Chaturdashi today, on Tuesday. Over 24,000 police personnel will be deployed to oversee the immersion processions, ensuring safety across the city. The extensive security measures will continue through Wednesday, for the Eid-E-Milad procession as well.

In a tech-savvy approach, drones will conduct surveillance at key immersion sites including Girgaon Chowpatty, Powai Lake, and Juhu Beach. To manage the expected traffic congestion, authorities will create a 'green corridor' for emergency vehicles, with the Coastal Road remaining open 24/7. Further, to ensure smooth and secure celebrations, 9 Additional Commissioners, 40 Deputy Commissioners and 56 Assistant Commissioners will oversee operations today.

Joint Commissioner confirmed heightened vigilance with over 8,000 CCTVs and a strong focus on the safety of women and children. Meanwhile, precautions are advised for using older railway bridges, and local trains will run overnight to support the festivities.
